Making a Couch Horse

If you have a couch with big enough arms it's easy to turn it into your very own horse or unicorn.

Take a paper bag and with a pencil crayon you draw nostrils on the bottom edge of the bag. Near the top of the bag you draw eyes. On the bottom of the bag you can draw a mouth and cut it out if you want. Be careful not to cut through the horses nose (like I did) when you're doing this.
To make the ears and the forelock you cut two small triangles out of felt and for the forelock you cut a rectangle of felt the width of the bag and make small cuts along one side to look like fringe. You can also use construction paper if you don't have felt. Glue the ears to the edge of the bag above the eyes and the forelock just below the ears, it doesn't matter if the forelock covers the eyes a little. Tape the bag to the front of the arm of the couch.
Choose a piece of material any colour you like and hang it from the arm of the couch just above the horse's head to look like a mane. Do the same thing for the tail and hang it at the back of the arm.
For a saddle you can use material folded into a square and set in the middle of the arm of the couch.
Now climb on and settle in for a nice trail ride on your new horse.

Making Your Own I Spy Books

I Spy books are a lot of fun to look at but it's even more fun to make your own.
To start you have to make sure that your pencil crayons are very sharp. If you're using markers, make sure that they have plenty of ink left in them. You will also need blank paper.
Put a line down one side of the page to draw pictures of the things you will be hiding. Use the bigger side to draw your picture where you will be hiding your things.
Choose any theme, like the sea, your backyard, the dog pound or the circus. Draw a background for your picture that you're sure you will be able to hide things in.

Paper Bag Animal Puppet

It's fun and easy to make your own animal puppets using plain brown paper bags. You can make different kinds of animals just make sure you don't cut the bag otherwise your puppet will be ruined. Cut out shapes from different colours of construction paper to make whatever kind of animal you want. You can add fun things like food in their mouths, tongues hanging out or funny eyes.  There is no limit to the kinds of animals you can make.
You can make paper capes for your puppets and turn on a fan to make the capes look like they are blowing in the wind.
To use them you put you hand inside the bag and curl your fingers over the fold to open and close the puppets mouth. Just make sure don't straighten your fingers all the way or the bag will open up to much and your puppet will be stuck with his mouth wide open.
After you've made all your puppets you can do puppet shows for your family and friends. It's even more fun if you get your friends to help you put on a puppet show.
